WINGS Educational Programs
Wings Over the Rockies Air and Space Museum is committed to meeting the educational needs of our community by inspiring and educating the coming generations of aviators, astronauts, scientists and leaders. WINGS sponsors and/or hosts a wide range of fun, exciting and educational programs for youth of all ages throughout the year including:
  • Kids Days - Over two days between Christmas and New Year's Day, Wings invites kids to come and play in the Museum. We offer hands-on aviation acivities for kids of all ages - balsa planes, foam rockets, a table-top landing simulator, and time in our computer flight simulator labs.
  • Oral History Project - The museum's Oral History Project, which began with Bruce Borman's B-17 Pilot and Dudley LeBeau's Hump Pilot, became a part of the Veterans History project sponsored by the Library of Congress and its American Folklife Center in early 2002. The final, transcribed interviews will be listed on the LOC's web site and be available to researchers throughout the world. They will also be on sale in our Museum Store.
  • Cockpit Demo Days - Selected aircraft will be open for up-close inspection and in some cases you (or your kids) can climb right in! Cockpit Demo Days are held 10:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m., on the 2nd Saturday of each month (subject to Special Events schedules).
